The Gurdjieff Work in Sweden

I met the work in the early 1990s through my mother, who lives in Stockholm, Sweden. For the ten years I was part of that group, we were constantly putting feelers out for others interested in Gurdjieff’s ideas, but never made contact with anyone outside the five or six members of our group. For some reason, the Gurdjieff work has struggled to take hold in Sweden. This is not the case for the rest of Scandinavia, and there are solid groups in Norway, Denmark and Finland. When I left Sweden in 2003, the group dissolved.

Since that time, I have continued to extend a network of Gurdjieff contacts from a number of different lineages and have participated in conferences, gatherings and work weeks in the US, Holland, UK, Germany, France and Hungary. I now feel embedded in the world-wide Gurdjieff community and have access to a range of contacts and support. Since 2009 I have been working with Adam Nott, the son of C.S. Nott.

I now feel the time is right for me to attempt to create a more enduring Gurdjieff presence in Stockholm and hope to run a group there from autumn 2013. My intention is to visit Sweden at least four times a year and to transmit sittings, readings, exercises and to facilitate access to my network of contacts, including Movements.

If you or anyone you know is interested in participating in this non-hierarchical, no-cost group dedicated to the teaching of G. I. Gurdjieff, please contact me.
